Plan your darshan
One morning.
Six darshans.
This is the route Punekars give visiting friends: Dagdusheth before sunrise, then the five Manache Ganpati through the old peths — all within a 2.5 km walk. Start at 5:30 AM and you are done before the queues form.
When to go
Beat the crowd.
Keep the wonder.
Ten days, lakhs of people, and a rhythm the city knows by heart. Time it right and darshan is calm; time it wrong and you queue for three hours. Here is the honest schedule.
6 – 9 AM
Lightest queues of the day. The city is yours.
5 – 9 PM
Peak crush. Skip it unless you want the full sea of people.
Days 2 – 4
Weekday mornings mid-festival are the quietest darshan.
Metro till late
Alight at Kasba Peth, PMC, or Deccan — Mandai for the return. Never drive into Budhwar Peth.

Kasba first — Gramadevata of the old city. Then Tambdi Jogeshwari, Guruji Talim, Tulshibaug, Kesari Wada. Not a top-five list — the protocol every Punekar learns: the sequence in which the city shows Bappa first honour.

Dagdusheth Halwai is not a Manacha — and it is still the mandal lakhs picture when they think of Pune. Two lanes away, Bhausaheb Rangari is where public Ganeshotsav began in 1892. Both fit in one Budhwar Peth walk.

The last day
is the loudest.
Anant Chaturdashi — Sept 25, 2026. The procession moves in strict order, Kasba leading as tradition demands, and it does not stop until the next sunrise. If you see one thing in Pune, see this.
Morning
Kasba Ganpati traditionally leaves first — the immersion procession begins in Manache honour order.
Afternoon
Dagdusheth and other large mandals join as the crowd builds. Exact join times shift every year.
Evening–night
Illuminated floats and pathaks carry the procession late. Metro plans continuous service across 25–26 Sep.
